Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to the most common questions I receive - Of course, don't be shy to contact me with any others you might have!

Some of those customs are really cool!!! How do I get a Custom Color?

Just Ask!  Seriously, send me an email through our Contact Page and describe what you have in mind - from there, I will help you determine the "level" of cost (Tier A or Tier B) - Tier A ($20) is a basic color change, not swirls or splatters - Tier B ($40) covers the rest.  Multiple pedal purchases are generally offered reduced rates.

How long will it take to get my pedal(s)?

The current build lead-time is listed in the lower banner - this can ebb and flow along with the demand. All orders are produced and shipped in order of receipt - of course, my update emails to you will keep you abreast of the status .... and you can always contact me to check in on the progress.

Where will you ship for delivery?

We have shipped to every continent, except Antarctica . . . so if you receive postal service, we can likely ship to you.  Packages are typically sent via Global Parcel Services (not UPS/FedEx), when available, to provide the best value.  Any customs fees or import taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Can you describe the differences between your available Germanium Transistors (Sybil, Beano, etc.)?

Here is a very basic summary of how they compare / contrast:

  • AC-188:  most grunt / higher gains available than the others, for those that want or need that extra kick

  • CV7003:  MilSpec OC-44 (ex-RAF) - think of a smoother version of the original OC-44.  More consistent/lower noise than glass OC-44 . . . but a bit less "open" feel.

  • NKT275:  The goldilocks transistor - sweet spot gain (not too high), low noise - open and responsive.

  • AC-107:  Just scored these - New old stock black glass Mullards - these may be my new fave.  Close to my old OC-44 in feel - Newly listed as available as I just got my shipment from the UK.

As with all “limited availability” components, old stock Germanium will not be around forever - I am treating my supply with the reverence it deserves and when they are gone . . . they are gone. That said, I am constantly in communication with my trusted suppliers and sampling alternates to protect our supply of great tone for many years to come.
